Lucia Graciela Ohyama
Lucía Graciela Ohyama is an Argentine tango dancer, educator and producer with more than twenty years of experience performing, teaching and creating artistic projects in Argentina and worldwide.
Trained in Buenos Aires with renowned maestros, Lucía has developed an approach to tango that is deeply rooted in its tradition while embracing its living, evolving nature. For Lucía, tango is not a sequence of steps, but a conversation. Her work is guided by the belief that the dance emerges through listening, presence, musicality and genuine connection between partners. This philosophy shapes every class she teaches, inviting dancers to move beyond patterns and discover a more authentic, expressive and enjoyable way of dancing.
Lucía creates an environment that is welcoming, thoughtful and inspiring. Her classes focus on the quality of the embrace, body awareness, musicality, communication and improvisation. With clear, practical guidance and a keen eye for detail, she helps students build strong fundamentals while encouraging confidence, creativity and personal expression.

Adam & Leanne - White Rose Tango
Your hosts for the weekender, Adam and Leanne have been teaching tango nuevo classes and running events in York and the surrounding areas for almost 15 years.
Their teaching focuses on embedding good technique and, most importantly, the connection between the leader and the follower, allowing great technique to be extended into the complex and intricate figures that tango nuevo is known for.
Colgadas are a particular speciality of theirs (although they can and do teach other things!) Adam and Leanne both lead and follow in their classes. They welcome live feedback and love insightful, in the moment questions.

Diane Kerry & Mark McCormick
Diane & Mark, started their dancing in other genres, and like many other dancers found they were fascinated by Tango, which became their passion. The joy they find in moving musically and connecting to people on a deeper level has opened up opportunities to teach both in the UK and Europe.
They seek not perfection, but finding and discovering magical moments in the dance community that encircles and accepts all harmonies, including alternative & nuevo. Their teaching style is both playful, but also about partnership and appreciation of the self, within the unity of the couple, in a smooth, gentle style, building on what you will already know to bring a new, grounded appreciation of the embrace.

Lorenzo & Ganka - Creative Tango Nottingham
Powerful music and connected dancing is something that lights up Lorenzo and Ganka from Creative Tango Nottingham.
Through explorations of the flavours of tango they have developed thier own style and found a spiritual home in the culture of European neo tango.
Lorenzo will also be joining us as a DJ for the Sunday afternoon tea dance. He loves neo and alternative music, the way it's played and the complete freedom of expression it gives.
Lorenzo strives to recreate the feeling that he gets from dancing through his own DJ sets.

Jon & Katie - Tango Hull
Jon and Katie have been teaching tango nuevo classes and running events in Hull for over 10 years.
Their teaching is filled with patience and humour and draws upon their extensive experience garnered from a broad range of teachers and styles.
Not just excellent teachers they have a keen ear for fantastic music and deliver delectable demos.
